Dive Statistics & DPiC: Using Data to Support Your Dive Program

$75.00

  • Sunday, November 1
  • ADPA Room 2
  • AM Sesssion – 8:00  AM – 12:00 PM

Data can be one of the most powerful tools for managing and improving a dive program—but only if you know how to use it. This interactive workshop will introduce participants to the functionality of DPIC, the fundamentals of dive program data analysis, and the practical application of pivot tables for organizing and interpreting information.

Participants will receive an overview of DPIC’s core functions, including dive records, calendars, users, equipment, inventory management, and aggregate dive summaries. The course will also address common questions and best practices for navigating and utilizing DPIC effectively.
Building on this foundation, attendees will learn how to identify meaningful metrics, determine what information is needed to answer specific questions, and locate relevant data within DPIC and volunteer management systems. Real-world examples will demonstrate how statistics can be used to evaluate program performance, track volunteer engagement, support operational decisions, and communicate program value.

The workshop will conclude with a hands-on introduction to pivot tables, including how to create them, organize data, automate reports, and apply useful formulas and calculations. Participants will see live demonstrations of data analysis techniques and may have the opportunity to build their own pivot tables using sample datasets.

Whether you are responsible for managing a dive program, reporting program metrics, or simply want to become more comfortable working with data, this course will provide practical skills that can be applied immediately within your organization.
