The Professional Development Committee is pleased to welcome two new members: Jackson Willoughby from Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas, and Shane Curran from Loveland Living Planet Aquarium in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are excited to have them join the committee and look forward to the experience, ideas, and perspectives they will bring.
Training Day is just around the corner, and we are gearing up for a great day of workshops, networking, and professional development. As we finalize plans, we would love to hear your ideas for future workshop topics. If you are interested in presenting or facilitating a workshop, please reach out so we can explore the logistics and opportunities to make it happen.
After discussions with the Board of Directors, we have decided to transition away from virtual Professional Development Week and instead focus on offering professional development opportunities throughout the year. Our goal is to provide more frequent and accessible opportunities for member engagement, learning, and collaboration. If you have suggestions for topics, speakers, or workshop ideas that would benefit the community, we encourage you to share them with us.
We are also excited to launch a new initiative for Bottom Times. Moving forward, we would like to include articles, videos, resources, and other educational content that may be valuable to our members. If you have content you would like to share with the community, please send it our way for consideration.
