Greetings ADPA’ers!
I hope the fall issue of the 2023 Bottom Times finds you putting the finishing touches on a successful and enjoyable summer season, with sights now on your 2023 ADPA Training Day and Annual Symposium on November 12th to 13th in New Orleans, LA, hosted by our very own Brendan De Grim and the Audubon Aquarium. The Training Day and Symposium Committees have put together another impressive and exciting year for The Association’s annual in-person activity. Attendees will be able to take part in seminars and training offerings from experts within the community, hear speakers share insights and projects from their own institutions, engage with Corporate Partners who share and offer their resources and support to the zoo and aquarium dive program community, and take part in our worthwhile networking event immediately following the symposium.
Each year, all of our ADPA committees come together to put on our Symposium and Training Day. I’d like to thank our Symposium, Professional Development, Corporate Partner, Communications, and IT committees for working together and continuing to move the needle of our community. These committee members put in countless hours each year to ensure we have a warm and inviting atmosphere that continues to exceed expectations. If you would like to get more involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any other Board members or Committee Chairs.
Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not mention 2023 is an election year. If you are interested in Board service please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself or any other Board member. The ADPA has been the most fulfilling and meaningful experience of my professional career, and I owe so much to so many. The support and expertise our community provides to one another is unlike anything I have been a part of, and I am extremely proud to be a member of your Association.
