President’s Corner – March 2026

Dear ADPA Members,

I hope this newsletter finds you all doing well. As we kick off a new term, I want to start by thanking two people who have given so much of themselves to the organization: Ashley McCarthy, who has served as Secretary, and Jake Emmert, our Director at Large. Their commitment and hard work have helped move ADPA forward in meaningful ways, and we’re grateful for everything they’ve contributed.

I’m also excited to welcome our incoming Board members—Rachel Cushman as Secretary and Mark Craven as President‑Elect. They each bring great energy and experience, and I’m looking forward to partnering with them as we continue strengthening our community.

In addition to our newly elected members, I want to extend a sincere thank you to Paul Dimeo (Treasurer), Scott Chapman (IT Director), and Andrew Solomon (Director at Large) for continuing their service as appointed members of the Board. Your steady leadership and willingness to keep supporting ADPA make a real difference.

As I begin this two‑year term, I want to share a bit about the strategic direction we’ll be focusing on. My goals include expanding engagement opportunities for members, enhancing our professional development resources, and continuing to elevate ADPA’s presence within the industry. Collaboration and communication will be central themes as we work together to build on the momentum we’ve created.

One initiative we are especially proud of is the launch of the Ed Harper Scholarship, which honors Ed’s tremendous impact on our organization and the dive community. This scholarship is an investment in future dive professionals, and I encourage everyone to help spread the word and support its success.

On a personal note, I want to share that I was recently involved in a motorcycle accident. I’m on the road to recovery, but that is the only road I’ll be on for a while. I’ll be on short‑term disability for the next month or so. I appreciate your patience and support while I take the time needed to heal, and I remain committed to staying connected and moving our work forward during this time. Then I am going to get a better motorcycle!

Thank you all for being part of ADPA and for the passion you bring to our community. I’m honored to serve you and excited about what we’ll accomplish together in the years ahead.

Warm regards,

Jeff Reid
President
ADPA Board of Directors
