President’s Corner – March 2025

Share

Hello ADPA Membership,

Andrew SolomonI hope everyone has settled back into their normal routine after Symposium and the holiday season. Although 2024 is in the rear-view mirror, I want to give a special thanks to our Board of Directors, all the Committee members, presenters, Training Day instructors, and Corporate Partners for putting on another fantastic Symposium and Networking Event. It would not have been possible without all their hard work. For those who could not attend the event last year, we hope to see you virtually in a few months at Professional Development Week or in person at this year’s Symposium.

The 2025 annual dues renewal process is coming to a close. If you haven’t already done so, please remember to make payment as soon as possible to avoid a lapse in member benefits. Speaking of member benefits, the highly anticipated DPiC 2.0 has officially been rolled out, and while I have personally needed to adjust to the new interface, I can’t say enough about how great the update is! The development and ongoing maintenance/upgrade of a software platform like DPiC would cost tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to support. Many of us sing Scott Chapman’s praises on a regular basis, but we truly are lucky to have someone like him who is consistently willing to give his time to support our community in this way. A huge thank you to Scott and the I.T. Committee for working behind the scenes to run our digital assets.

I would also like to express heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing Membership Director, Heather Hooper. She has served in this role since 2022. Her dedication and hard work over the last three years had a profound and lasting impact on our membership, and the processes that help ADPA function. Thank you, Heather! The Board is working on seating an interim Membership Director to fill this role for the remainder of the term. Until then, if you need any assistance with member related services, please contact membership@adpa.org. Lastly, the Board of Directors will be holding their mid-year meeting the week of April 28th – May 2nd at the Mississippi Aquarium in Gulfport, Mississippi. Not only are we excited to be visiting one of our community member’s institutions, but we also look forward to updating you all on some of the initiatives the Board has been working on this year. With that, thank you for allowing me this opportunity to be of service to our community, and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in 2025!
